In addition to a water connection, connections for waste water and stormwater are often required. If the property’s operations require an environmental permit or if the quality of the waste water differs from normal waste water quality, an industrial waste water agreement must be concluded. The connection is provided by Napapiirin Vesi Oy.

THE WATER CONNECTION SERVICE INCLUDES:

construction of the service pipe to the boundary of the property
installation of a property-specific site valve at the boundary of responsibility
one remotely readable water meter and its installation
assistance and advice from our experts throughout the connection works
a guarantee in accordance with the General Conditions of Contract for Construction Works (YSE 1998): 2 years for defects arising during construction and 10 years for construction defects.

THE CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

obtaining any necessary planning permissions
the costs of forest clearance or specialised techniques such as excavation, thawing of frozen ground or road underboring, which the water utility will invoice
costs arising from additional construction work.

PRICING

The total connection charge is determined by the water connections included in the supply, which comprise domestic, waste water and stormwater connections. The necessary connections are determined on the basis of the Water Services Act and the general terms and conditions of supply. The actual costs arising from any additional construction work or specialised technology are added to the connection fee.

A domestic water supply contract is also drawn up in conjunction with the connection contract. The basic and usage charges for water can be found in the same price list as the connection charges.

How to order a subscription

1. Statement on the accession treaty

Your M&E designer will ask us for the initial information – that is, the connection approval – which will be provided within two weeks, and will then draw up the plans. You can then apply for planning permission.

2. Application for membership

Once a planning permission has been granted, you can apply for a connection by completing a connection application form.

3. Subscription Agreement

We will be in touch with you to go through the details of the contract. We will sign the subscription contract. The subscription will be invoiced when the contract is signed, and the payment term is one month.

4. Making a connection

A water connection is being installed. Water consumption during the works will be charged in accordance with the price list. The cost of opening the valve will also be charged at the same time.

5. Fitting a water meter

Order the installation of a water meter by completing the meter installation form.
