A domestic electricity supply is a suitable choice when electricity consumption is not particularly high. This may apply, for example, to detached houses, semi-detached houses, holiday homes and businesses that do not have many energy-intensive operations.

The fuse size is usually 3×25 A. The best way to find out the fuse size for your property is to consult either an electrical designer or an electrical contractor.

Sign an electricity contract with the supplier of your choice for the property. Neve Oy, Rovaniemen Verkko Oy and Enontekiön Sähkö Oy do not supply electricity.

PRICING AND DELIVERY TIMES

Many factors affect the price of an electricity connection. The connection fee is determined based on the location of the connection and the size of the main fuse.

Example 1: A detached house in Zone 1 in the centre of Rovaniemi with a main fuse rating of 3x25A, the connection fee is 2 789 €.

Example 2: For a semi-detached house in Zone 1 in the centre of Rovaniemi with a main fuse rating of 3x35A, the connection fee is 3 300 €.

The delivery time for an electricity connection depends on the zone. In Zone 1, the delivery time is 8 weeks from the date the connection contract comes into force. In Zone 2, it is 14 weeks from the date the connection contract comes into force.

Setting up an electricity supply

1. Check whether the property is within our area of operation

An electricity connection links your property to the electricity network operated by Rovaniemen Verkko Oy or Enontekiön Sähkö Oy. We operate via Rovaniemen Verkko Oy in the Rovaniemi city centre area and via Enontekiön Sähkö Oy in the Enontekiö municipality area. Check Rovaniemen Verkko’s zone map to see if you are within our service area.

2. Choose an electrical contractor and have an electrical plan drawn up for the building

It is always advisable to draw up a contract in writing. The electrical contractor must hold a licence issued by the Electrical Inspection Centre or the Centre for Safety Technology. An electrical contractor or electrical designer can advise you on electrical matters relating to construction and tell you what sort of electricity supply you need.

3. Complete the online subscription application

Complete the application once your building permit has been confirmed and you know your electricity requirements. To apply for an electricity connection, you will need:
• details of the type of property, its address and property identification numbers
• a site plan
• details of the fuse size for the connection

4. Sign the connection agreement; we will install the connection

The connection agreement is drawn up before work on the connection begins. The connection agreement specifies the connection point and the connection fee. The lead time for the connection varies depending on the location of the site, ranging from two to three months. It is therefore advisable to start the process in good time, especially if the electricity connection is required as early as the construction phase.

5. Check that the conditions for connecting the electricity supply are met

To enjoy the benefits of an electrified lifestyle in your property, the following requirements must be met.
• You have a valid connection contract.
• You have a valid electricity supply contract.
• You have a valid network service contract with Rovaniemen Verkko Oy or Enontekiön Sähkö Oy.
• Your electrical contractor must have submitted and signed the metering form at least 14 days previously.
